The first mention of this abbey, located in the hamlet of Graufthal, dates back to the 12th century in the charters. Its main building campaign is therefore estimated to have taken place at the beginning of that century. Its convent was placed under the protection of the martyr Saint-Gandolphe and served as a hospice at the time. However, the abbey was devastated during the Wars of Religion in 1525 and was finally secularised in 1551. Since then, it has never been rebuilt, and we can still admire its remains on the site where it was first founded. The building, now reduced to remains, has been listed as a historic monument since 1984.
