Chapelle Sainte Marguerite

Presentation

The Sainte-Marguerite chapel, listed as a historic monument since 1968, is a 12th-century Romanesque building. The nave was rebuilt in the 17th century. It stands on the former site of the village of Himmolsheim, which disappeared in the 15th century. The building is of particular interest: it is a rural parish church from the Middle Ages in its original state, restored but not altered.

Église Saint-Martin

Presentation

Situated in the centre of the village, the church of Saint-Martin was built between 1001 and 1004 and was the first in the Kochersberg to have a fortified tower. All that remains of this tower are the first three storeys and the walls of the nave, now used as the choir. These three levels are pierced with bays and a final level was added later, covered by a pavilion roof with a cross placed at the top of the ridge.
