Barr

Église protestante

Presentation

Built in the late Romanesque style, around 1175-1185, the tower of the Protestant church in Barr is notable for the abundance of sculpted decoration, reflecting the considerable financial resources used to build it: it is adorned with numerous sculpted elements, in particular the brackets on which the Lombard arcatures rest. The former choir tower dates from the late 12th century, except for the top floor, which was added in the Gothic period.
