The Kirchberg, considered to be one of the first Christian places of worship in the region and a regional landmark, is home to a chapel dedicated to Saint-Martin. It is one of the oldest in Aslace, mentioned in charters as far back as the early 8th century. It is located where the village of Berg was originally built, on the Kirchberg hill. The bell tower dates back to the 12th century, as does the nave, but it was destroyed during the fighting in the winter of 1944 by the American army. It was rebuilt identically in 1947 at the same time as the chapel was restored. This bell tower is built on a circular plan and covered by a conical roof. The side walls are pierced with semi-circular arched openings. <\/p>\n
